ABVP celebrates 70th foundation day
Ongole: The Prakasam district unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) celebrated the 70th foundation day of their student organisation with a grand rally from Saibaba temple in Lawyerpet to Kothapatnam bus stand area in Ongole on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the ABVP Vibhag Sanghatana secretary Hanumanthu said that the organisation was born on July 9 in 1949. He said that Om Prakash Behal has founded the organisation to rededicate the students and youth into building the nation with commitment and discipline. He mentioned the incidents of sacrifice by Sama Jaganmohan to protect national flag at Kakatiya University in 1982 and flag march by 10,000 ABVP workers at Lalchowk in Kashmir showing courage against terrorists in 1992 as examples of their commitment. The ABVP leaders Ashok, Rajasekhar, Nagoor Sharif, Santosh, Naveen, Venkatesh, Mariyababu, Krishna Kishore, Kareem, Prabhu, Murali, Charan, Sai, Nagaseshu and others also participated in the programme.
